Our Story

born from necessity

Our relationship with Bali started back in 2016. We met here, conceived our first child, and apart from an episode during the pandemic in Portugal, have called Bali home ever since. 

Being parents to a flourishing 3-year-old we quickly realized there weren't too many places we could go and feel totally at ease, with our little enthusiastic explorer wanting to go everywhere. For us, going out for a meal, became more stressed than it was worth. The places that were "kid-friendly" weren't adult-friendly and so compromises were constantly being made to suit both our and our daughter's needs. 

Village emerged out of our desire for a deeper connection with our community,  Our need to play with our daughter, whilst unwinding and enjoying wholesome food. We envisioned a space where families could come together within a secure environment, fostering connections with one another.

Our intention for Village was to create a space that deeply nourishes the souls of all who visit.

Here, both children and adults can immerse themselves without the distractions of the outside world.

Living in this community, we deeply appreciate the support we receive in raising our children, be it from nannies or cleaners. Our intention is not merely a drop-off point for kids, but rather a haven where families can come together, savor wholesome food, and unwind while allowing children to excel at what they do best: playing!

 

Situated at the heart of the village, both literally and metaphorically, we have created a serene ambiance that encourages children to play, allows parents to rejuvenate, and offers adults an opportunity to connect with others and even work. Our aim has been to fashion a place that accommodates everyone's needs. We have successfully introduced one of the pioneering concepts in Bali—

a tech-free zone.

Our Food

Our menu, crafted with love by a caring mother, is designed to nourish the souls of both kids and adults. It features simple, wholesome, and delicious recipes that cater to vegan and vegetarian preferences. We also offer numerous gluten-free options, while strictly avoiding the use of palm oil, taste enhancers, and processed or refined sugars, with particular focus on sourcing the finest organic ingredients from the islands vast network of farmers.
